Belleville Arts Foundation Awarded Feasibility Grant from Massachusetts Cultural Council

Newburyport, MA–The Belleville Arts Foundation, Inc. (BAF) has been awarded a $35,000 feasibility and technical assistance grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. This grant will fund a study to transform the Belleville Meetinghouse located at 300 High Street, Newburyport into a financially and administratively self-sufficient community arts center that, while preserving the historic features of the building’s exterior, will offer audiences and performers modern amenities and comfortable interior spaces. The mission of the BAF is to preserve, maintain and improve the Belleville Meetinghouse and use it as a civic hub, a venue for the arts, and a community center for the Greater Newburyport area. Building a sense of community through the arts, BAF will support a variety of cultural endeavors including concerts, lectures, theatrical performances, workshops, and more.
The BAF is currently raising funds to support its mission. The grant awarded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council is a matching grant. Your donations to BAF at this time will be worth double by the terms of the MCC grant award.
